Portrait of the artist

I want to preface this post by saying that I am not comfortable in front of the camera, I much prefer to be behind it and in control, so when I decided to play around with some lighting set-ups and the only model I had was me, the last place I thought these images would end up would be on my blog.

When I played with the images in Lightroom, I was surprised at how nice I thought they were. They seemed to capture something that I hadn’t seen (in myself) before and I thought I would share them and see what people thought. Is this vain or self indulgent? I sincerely hope not but please feel free to let me know what you think 🙂

I really like them! The second one especially, though I’m not sure why – maybe because it’s a typical “Brett” expression? I really like the ones that have that honesty about them.

I imagine it’s good to have time in front of the camera as well as behind it, even if only for the sake of perspective 🙂

As much as it must feel weird posting photo’s of yourself on your blog, I think the photo’s are great! You sure are one talented photographer. Think I must book you to take some shots of the family sometime soon. Actually might have a chat to you about doing something special for my Mum’s 50th which is coming up…..think it might be time for family photo’s!! Will be in contact

Looks like an artist making art to me.
